what are these empty folders created daily in appdata\local ???
see screen shot here: http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q389/fantome_02/whatisit.jpg I use to find similar empty folders under program data, now not anymore by under appdata\local ... and much more than there use to be in program data. Any clue as to what generates the creation of these folders? thanks. ps: running W7/64 here

Those are created when a program requests a temporary file. Ignore them. My MVP is for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT, and I am getting increasingly good with Visual Studio. Developer | Windows IT | Chess | Economics | Hardcore Games | Vegan Advocate | PC Reviews

okay thanks but why there... at the root of "local", and not in local\temp... they sound like registry entries. Anyway must be the same program generating that each time as I only get one folder like that created a day. But I agree, doesn't matter at all after all ;)

Windows itself makes lots of those that are not under the temp folder. That is because they are there to support other functions that are more permanent.
